playing together in their hometown of Magdeburg,. In 2005, they were
signed by Universal and on August 15, 2005, their first single “Durch
Den Monsun” was released. It hit #1 the same month. Since then, Tokio
Hotel have sold over five records & DVDs. They are the most

Russia.
Gustav Schäfer
Gustav Schäfer
Gustav Wolfgang Schäfer was born September 8, 1988 in Magdeburg, Germany. He has played drums since the age of 5. He is featured on the Meinl Cymbals website.
Gustav Quotes:
On success:
Yes, I’m really glad to see our efforts crowned this way. I believe that I’ve made the right choices. Drums came into my life when I was 5, and I’ve spend all my energy for it. When all the kids of the neighborhood were playing outside, I was alone, in my room, playing drums for hours. I was made for that, I was sure of that.

The day I saw Bill & Tom rehearsing in a shed in Magdeburg all
those years ago, I kind of had a revelation. I knew my fate would be to
play with them. And I wasn’t wrong.
On his drums and his perfectionism:
With me, everything has to be perfectly settled. I never leave place for improvisation, even for some small details. For example, I systematically put my drums and stool in a extremely precise place of the stage, always the same place. If someone tried to move them, even a centimeter, I could be really cross ! Except my assistant, no one is allowed to approach my drums.

Georg Listing -Bio
Georg Listing
Georg Moritz Hagen Listing was on March 31, 1987 in Halle / Saale,
Germany. He began playing bass at the age of 13. In 2001, Georg met the
Kaulitz twins at a club in Magdeburg, and along with Gustav, the four
formed the pre-cursor band to Tokio Hotel, “Devilish”.
Quotes from Georg:
On music:
At my house, music reigned. My parents, both doctors, didn’t play any instruments, but they had a real passion for rock. My father, in particular, had an impressive collection of albums. He knew the classics such as Eric Clapton, the Beatles, or the Rolling Stones by heart. Thanks to him, I had the chance to go to some legendary concerts. The musical universe has always fascinated me.

On becoming a known band:
The meeting with our producers and composers, Peter Hoffman, Pat Benzer, Dave Roth, and David Jost, was the deciding factor. They believed in our talent and gave us the means of recording a great album, Schrei. Still, we never would have been able to work with a team like that if we hadn’t endlessly kept performing to get noticed. We were lucky, it’s true, but we also knew how to bring it about.

On Tokio Hotel:
On a strictly professional plane, there is a lot of esteem and respect among us. On a more personal plane, our collaboration is perfect. We’re not a band from a reality TV show or pre-made. We share a real history of friendship that already goes back many years. We were kids when we men – I was 14, Gustav was 13, and Bill and Tom were only 12! This mutual past creates strong and authentic bonds between us.

Tom Kaulitz-Bio
Tom Kaulitz
Tom Kaulitz was born September 1, 1989 in Leipzig, Germany. Older
than his identical twin brother Bill by 10 minutes, Tom often makes
jokes about being the “older” brother.
Tom has played guitar since he was seven years old. His guitarist
stepfather introduced him to the instrument and Tom had an immediate and
enthusiastic interest in continuing. Now he favors the Gibson line of
guitars. Tokio Hotel was featured on the Gibson site
in 2008. As of 2009, Tom has added keyboard to his repetoire and it is
rumored he will be playing piano during the upcoming Humanoid Tour.
Since July 1, 2009, Tom has been blogging at the Tokio Hotel site and
his entries show a keen mind with a wicked sense of humor and an eye
for design, color and the unusual. And a big love of cars. ;) Check out
his blog here!
Tom quotes:
Question: When was the last time you said “I love you” to someone?
“I don’t think I ever said it yet.. wait, I have said it once: When I held my Gibson guitar for the first time… Je t’aime, Gibson.”
Question: When was the last time you said “I love you” to someone?
“I don’t think I ever said it yet.. wait, I have said it once: When I held my Gibson guitar for the first time… Je t’aime, Gibson.”
“You know, every album, all of our songs are part of us and all the
albums have a certain sound and I think Humanoid is the one with the
most power so far. I mean, we didn’t plan that in advance, it just
happened. And “World Behind My Wall” is a very intimate song that
describes part of our lives.
“We always say: Try being yourself and don’t let anybody tell you what to do or to wear.”

Idols: I never had any idols because I never wanted to live after someone elses’ rules but there’s still a lot of people who have been influencing me… I think all that is happening on a subconscious level
First concert: Nena
Greatest wish: Freedom to no end and a life filled with music until eternity
Favorite part of Tokio Hotel: Performing new songs I’ve just written live
Favorite Tokio Hotel memories so far: the first time you do something is brilliant- in the studio, playing a gig, appearing on TV, first tour.
Goals for Tokio Hotel: We’re always setting new goals. as soon as we achieve one, we give ourselves another.
